A Typical Day in the Life of a Study Abroad Student

You'll start your day with a delicious breakfast with your homestay family. This is a great opportunity to practice your Spanish and learn more about the local culture. Your homestay family will likely serve traditional Costa Rican dishes like gallo pinto (rice and beans) or fresh tropical fruit.

After breakfast, you'll take a shuttle to your Spanish classes at the language school. The language school is located in a beautiful and convenient location, so the shuttle ride will be short and sweet. In your morning Spanish classes, you'll practice speaking, listening, and writing skills with other international students and expert teachers.

In the afternoon, you'll have the chance to take electives in a wide range of fields like environmental science, sustainable development, or cultural studies. These classes will be taught in English, so you won't have to worry about language barriers. You'll have hands-on learning experiences and engage in group projects with your classmates.

On the weekends, you'll have the opportunity to explore Costa Rica's natural wonders and cultural treasures. One weekend, you might take an excursion to a nearby volcano or go zip-lining in the rainforest. Another weekend, you might visit a local farmers market or take a salsa dancing class.
